2 kilos shabu found in ex-mayor’s house in Marawi

Government troops found 2 kilograms of suspected Methamphetamine Hydrochloride (shabu) illegal drug in a house owned by former Marawi City mayor Omar Solitario Ali while conducting house to house clearing operations on June 24, 2017.

The 10 million pesos worth of shabu was discovered at house no. 73 Lakeside, Barangay Bangon, Marawi City by Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group Mindanao Area together with PNP Criminal Investigation and Detection Group ARMM, PNP Regional Public Saftey Battalion ARMM, PNP Regional Intelligence Division ARMM, Joint Task Force Marawi, and Task Group Bakal.

The recovered shabu was brought to the Advanced Command Post in Saber, Marawi City for documentation and proper disposition.

The provincial PNP Crime Laboratory Office (Lanao del Sur) field test on the recovered shabu yielded positive results.

Lt. Col. Jo-ar Herrera, Joint Task Force Marawi spokesperson, said the field test conducted by the PNP Crime Laboratory Office was witnessed by the media.
