DWDD | 35 Young Marawi Evacuees Joins Tabak Educational Tour in Manila

LANAO DEL SUR (DWDD) – A total of thirty-five (35) child evacuees from Marawi is in Manila to meet and greet with President Rodrigo Duterte at Malacanan Palace this afternoon.

According to BGen. Rolando Joselito Bautista, Commander, JTF Marawi and 1st Infantry “Tabak” Division, through the “Tabak Educational Tour: Peaceful Environment for Marawi Children,” they hope to lessen the stress and effect of the current situation on their young minds.

The five-day tour started yesterday, with a simple send-off ceremony yesterday at the Lanao Del Sur Provincial Capitol in Marawi City, and it will end on September 1.

Aside from Malacanan, they are also slated to visit the National Museum, the Mind Museum and the Manila Ocean Park.

The aim of the program is for the children, aged seven to thirteen years old, to have an educational experience, social and cultural values for peace-building and exposure to a peaceful environment. It can be recalled that most of the recruits / members of the Maute terror group are children.
