CAMP SANG-AN, Labangan, Zamboanga del Sur – Twelve Communist NPA Terrorist (CNT) organizing group surrendered to 82nd Infantry Battalion of Joint Task Force Ranao in hinterlands of Kapai and Tagoloan all of Lanao del Sur Monday (November 26, 2018).

“The surrenderees were organized by Semi Legal Team, Guerilla Front 12, North Central Mindanao Regional Committee, ” said Lt. Col. Jayson Jumawan, 82nd Infantry Battalion Commander.

The CNT organizing group also surrendered two firearms, one caliber 30 carbine rifle and one caliber 45 pistol.

Custodial debriefing is still on-going as of this posting.

Last November 10, 2018, one NPA leader in Tagoloan, LDS was killed in an encounter with 65th Infantry Battalion, operationally controlled by 4th Infantry Division based in Cagayan de Oro city.

Major General Roseller Murillo, the 1st Infantry Division and Joint Task Force Zampelan (Zamboanga Peninsula and Lanao Provinces) Commander commended the troops for their efforts that led to the surrender of the 12 NPA organizing group.

“Our campaign against Communist NPA Terrorists and Local Terrorists Group in our area of operation is relentless and will continue to insulate communities from their terroristic activities,” said Major General Murillo.

“We will also complement our operations with other Infantry Divisions to isolate and destroy them to attain just and lasting peace in the AO,” He added.

CAMP SANG-AN, Pulacan, Zambo del Sur – Seventy-one Former Rebels (FRs) of Misamis Occidental were awarded with financial assistance of the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP) of the government by Sec. Delfin Lorenzana, Department of National Defense, in Provincial Capitol, Oroquieta City Saturday (November 17, 2018).

During the awarding ceremony, Sec. Lorenza personally handed over the checks worth Php 65,000 to former rebels and Php 15,000 to Yunit Militia members as part of the reintegration and financial assistance of the program.

The event was attended by Governor Herminia Ramiro, Province of Misamis Occidental; Asec Roosque Calacat, Assistant Secretary for Barangay Affairs and Partnership; Usec Reynaldo Mapagu, Task Force Balik Loob; Vice Governor Virginia Almonte; Major General Roseller Murillo, 1st Infantry Division Commander; E-CLIP committees, PNP, LGUs and other stakeholders.

“Sixty-nine out of seventy-one surrenderees were regular Communist NPA Terrorist members. The two others were Yunit Militia ,” said Col. Bagnus Gaerlan, 102nd Infantry Brigade Commander.

“E-CLIP have changed the lives of FRs in Misamis Occidental. With this program, rebels in our province decreased.” Said Gov. Ramiro.

“To our FRs, there is no turning back, you (FRs) are now our partners for peace and development in our province,” she added.

Alias Man-Man, one of the FR, during his testimony mentioned his hardships and struggles while with the NPA armed group.

He likewise thanked the president for the reintegration program.

“The promise of our government is different compared to Communist NPA Terrorist. We fulfil our promise of a good governance, they (NPA) didn’t.” said Sec. Lorenzana.

“The E-CLIP thru the leadership of President Duterte is a complete, where convergence of government units and agencies to serve our FRs is being implemented,” he added.

“We thanked Gov. Ramiro and the stakeholders of province of Misamis Occidental for being active in implementing the E-CLIP,” said Major General Murillo.

Oath of allegiance of FRs was also conducted to pledge for their commitment, loyalty and support to the government.

The E-CLIP seeks to contribute towards achieving the goal of permanent and peaceful closure of all armed conflicts with non-state armed groups. XXX

CAMP SANG-AN, Labangan, Zamboanga del Sur – Seven Maute/ISIS remnants surrendered in Lumbaca Unayan, Lanao del Sur 2:00 p.m. Thursday (November 15, 2018).

The seven Mautes yielded to Lt. Col. Ian Noel Ignes, the 55th Infantry Battalion Commander, under the Joint Task Force Ranao of Lanao del Sur.

The remnants also surrendered two M16, one M14 rifles; one UZI; two caliber 45 and one 9mm handguns.

“The joint efforts of LGUs and our troops in the ground made this endeavor successful,” said Ignes.

Maj. Gen. Roseller Murillo, 1st Infantry Division and Joint Task Force Zampelan (Zamboanga Peninsula and Lanao Provinces) Commander, commended the efforts of the troops and stakeholders involved.

CAMP SANG-AN, Labangan, Zamboanga del Sur – One Maute/ISIS remnant and one Communist NPA Terrorist surrenders to the operationally controlled units of the 1st Infantry “TABAK” Division Wednesday.

In Butig, Lanao del Sur, BUDO (not his true name) surrendered to Lt. Col. Edgar Allan Villanueva, 49th Infantry Battalion Commander.

“BUDO was involved in harassment of Pantar Detachment in June 2017 during the height of Marawi Siege as diversion while the bulk of the Maute/ISIS terrorist is fighting in the main battle area,” said Villanueva.

Meanwhile, one communist NPA terrorist surrendered also to 10th Infantry Battalion in Tambulig, Zamboanga del Sur.

“Jhon-jhon (not his true name) is the team leader of Baking, squad one, SECOM JOJI of the Western Mindanao Party Committee,” said Lt. Col. Ryan Severo 10th Infantry Battalion Commander.

“The 102nd Infantry Brigade will ensure that the surrendered NPA will be enrolled to Enhanced Comprehensive Integration Program (ECLIP),” said Col. Bagnus Gaerlan, Brigade Commander.

Major General Roseller Murillo, 1st Infantry Division Commander, commended the efforts of the troops for the successful surrender of the NPA and Maute/ISIS.

“We will continuously encourage NPAs and Maute/ISIS to surrender in order to achieve a just and lasting peace in our area of responsibility.” Maj. General Murillo added.XXX

CAMP SANG-AN, Labangan, Zamboanga del Sur – General Carlito G Galvez AFP, Chief of Staff, Armed Forces of the Philippines, visits Headquarters 1st Infantry “TABAK” Division  today (November 18, 2018).

He was tendered with a battalion-size arrival honor by Major General Roseller G Murillo AFP, the 1st Infantry Division Commander.

CSAFP also donned ranks to the personnel who gallantly fought during Marawi siege and awarded deserving personnel from operationally controlled and line units of this command.

One of the awardees was 1st Lieutenant Gerson D Garcia, whose family, together with his two siblings who also served during Marawi Siege, was trending after being included in ABS-CBN Christmas Station ID 2018 entitled Family is Love.

“I am honored for the warm welcome of 1st ID, the unit that have been very essential for my military career,” said Gen. Galvez.

“And I am very proud to tell our foreign counterparts that we liberated Marawi in a Filipino way.” He added.

Blessing of warehouse of Service Support Battalion and Capability Demonstration by selected designated marksman was also conducted during his visit. XXX

CAMP SANG-AN, Labangan, Zamboanga del Sur – A peace rally condemning the Communist NPA Terrorist was conducted in Market Site, Bayog, Zamboanga del Sur Friday.

The surrendered 14 Militia ng Bayan and 105 NPA supporters were among the protesters, together with LGUs and non-government and civic society organizations.

The activity was then followed by an oath of allegiance to the government by the surrenderees and supporters.

The group also yielded 127 assorted loose firearms to Lt. Col. Jonathan Obena, 44 Infantry Battalion Commander, and were subsequently turned over to PNP Bayog for proper disposistion.

Custodial debriefing to surenderees is still on-going as of this posting.

“The peace rally by the surrenderees is an evidence of mistrust and frustration to the NPA that hinders peace and progress in their community,” said Col. Bagnus Gaerlan, 102 Infantry Brigade Commander.

“We will continuously collaborate with stakeholders for their enrollment to Enhance Comprehensive Local Integration Program (ECLIP) of the government,” Col. Gaerlan added.

DONATIONS | The ceremonial turn-over of various items amounting to Php 534, 755.30 from the Armed Forces of the Philippines Savings and Loans Association Incorporated Pagadian branch to 1st Infantry “TABAK” Division was held today.

The activity was graced with Anabelle A Marcaban, Branch Manager, Brigadier General Nixon Fortes, Assistant Division Commander for Admin and Logistics, officers and men of 1st ID.

Various items includes dining set, sala set, aircons, bed foams, television, refrigerators, ceiling fans and gas ranges that will be installed in the newly renovated Enlisted Personnel Transient.

“This is how we repay the generosity and trust of AFP troops. We are always here to support you,” said Marcaban.

Brigadier General Fortes likewise thanked the AFPSLAI for their continued support to Team Tabak.

CAMP SANG-AN, Labangan, Zamboanga del Sur – One soldier was wounded after the two armed encounter between government forces and communist NPA terrorists in two separate towns of Misamis Occidental.

On Monday at around 4:00 p. m., the 10th Infantry Battalion encountered 15 NPAs in Panaon.

No government forces was hurt while undetermined casualties from NPAs due to bloodstains after the encounter.

Yesterday at around 7:50 a. m., the pursuit troops of 14 Division Reconnaissance Company encountered the fleeing NPAs in Jimenez, Misamis Occidental that resulted to one soldier wounded.

The troops recovered two AK47 rifles, one M16 with M203 grenade launcher, one rifle grenade, blasting caps, IEDs, medical supplies and ammunitions.

“The combat operation was conducted responding the report of a concerned civilian regarding NPAs presence in their community,” said Col. Bagnus Gaerlan, the 102nd Infantry Brigade Commander.

Major General Roseller Murillo, Joint Task Force Zampelan Commander, commended the troops and assures medical support to wounded soldier.

“The armed encounter could have been prevented if the NPAs surrendered and take advantage of the Enhance Comprehensive Local Integration Program of the government for them to go back to the mainstream society,” said Major General Murillo.

CHOICE | Communist NPA Terrorist Surrenders in Zamboanga del Sur

CAMP SANG-AN, Labangan, Zamboanga del Sur – One Communist NPA Terrorist (CNT) surrendered to 53rd Infantry “MATAPAT” Battalion in Midsalip, Zamboanga del Sur Tuesday.

The CNT was identified as Alias @Pipoy, a member of Platoon Basil, MRGU, Western Mindanao Regional Party Committee.

Pipoy also yielded two AK47 to Lt. Col. Marlowe Patria, 53rd Infantry Battalion commander.

“The initial custodial debriefing found out that Pipoy was tired in hiding and evading our troops,” said Lt. Col. Patria.

“Rest assured that we will enroll and facilitate him to the Enhanced Local Integration Program (E-CLIP) of our government,” he added.

YOUNGSTER | Former Maute ISIS Young Fighter; Surrenders in Lanao del Sur

CAMP SANG-AN, Labangan, Zamboanga del Sur – An eighteen year-old fighter of Maute ISIS remnants surrendered to 49th Infantry “Good Samaritan” Battalion of the Joint Task Force Ranao in Butig, Lanao del Sur Monday.

Alias @ASNOR was 14 years old when he was recruited by the late Maute ISIS leader Abdullah Maute in the year 2014 together with other 12 minors.

“Nine years old was their youngest recruit and Asnor was involved in an armed engagement with government forces in the month of February and November of 2016,” said Lt. Col Edgar Allan Villanueva, 49th Infantry Battalion Commander.

After the two engagements, Asnor decided to lie low.

Maj. Gen. Roseller Murillo, Joint Task Force Zampelan commander, commended the efforts of troops that facilitated the young fighter to surrender.

“We are glad to hear that Asnor decided to surrender and this is the best chance for him to return to mainstream society and achieve his aspiration,” Maj.Gen. Murillo said.
