RECOGNITION RITES | An Open Collar ceremony of the Candidate Soldier Course Class 567 and 568 – 2018 was held in Hqs 1st Infantry “TABAK” Division today.
The event was graced with Col Leonel M. Nicolas, Commander of Joint Task Force Zamboanga, as keynote speaker.
The opening of collar is a military tradition where trainees are granted limited privileges and be recognized for what they have overcome or conquered during training.
The two classes have undergone two months of rigorous training.
They were also taught basic foundations of soldiery, orientation and indoctrination subjects, physical fitness, drills and ceremonies, articles of war, customs and traditions, courtesy and discipline.
Family day follows after the ceremony. The trainees were able to spend quality time for their families, friends, siblings and love ones as one of the privilege given to an open collar.
