CAMP SANG-AN, Labangan, Zamboanga del Sur – Five drug dealers surrendered to Army’s 49th Infantry Battalion in Masiu, Lanao del Sur, 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 5,2019.
“The five personalities were involved in illegal drug trade in the municipality of Masiu and thru the effort of the Mayor Nasser Pangandaman and PNP, they’ve surrendered”, said Lt. Col. Edgar Allan Villanueva 49th Infantry Battalion commander.
Surrenderors were immediately brought to Municipal Police Station of Masiu for proper documentation and custodial debriefing.
According to Brig. Gen. Romeo Brawner, Jr., 103rd Infantry Brigade Commander, who has operational jurisdiction of Lanao del Sur, “This is the result of our continued partnership with the local government units and collaboration with the law enforcement agencies”.
“We will continuously support the PNP in its effort on law enforcement operation in order to sustain the peace and security in Lanao del Sur”, added Brawner.
Meanwhile, Maj. Gen. Roberto Ancan, the 1st Infantry Division and Joint Task Force Zampelan (Zamboanga Peninsula and Lanao Provinces) commander, commended the efforts of the troops, PNP and the local government unit of Masiu for the surrender of the drug personalities.
“Let us continue to work together to end illegal activities and other criminalities in Lanao del Sur in order to push for the sustainable developmental efforts of the province,” Ancan concluded.
