CAMP SANG-AN, Pulacan, Labangan, ZDS – A Local Terrorist member surrendered and several assorted firearms were yielded to the operating battalions of the 103rd Infantry Brigade in Lanao del Sur this week.
Around 7:00 p.m. same day, one M653 and one M16A1 rifles, magazines and ammunitions were surrendered to the 82nd Infantry Battalion in their headquarters in Brgy Pawak, Saguiaran.
Around 2:00 p.m., today, October 21, 2019, Aminudin Datu or known as alias @Abu Jannah/Abu Nasraula, surrendered to the 82nd Infantry Battalion. Datu yielded one Browning automatic rifle, one caliber 45 handgun, magazines and ammunitions.
According to Lt. Col. Rafman Altre, 82nd Infantry Battalion commander, Datu was involved in the series of armed encounters in Gacap, Piagapo, Marawi city, Mantapoli and Marantao prior the Marawi Siege.
“He also served as the guide of the local terrorist group for their atrocities in Paridi Piagapo”, added Altre.
Meanwhile, Col. Jose Maria Cuerpo II, 103rd Infantry Brigade Acting Commander, who has operational command of the battalions in Lanao del Sur said that, “Todays accomplishments were attributed to the peace-loving local chief executives, constituents and stakeholders of Lanao del Sur”.
“We will continuously collaborate with them to encourage other local terrorist to surrender and yield their loose firearms to attain a just and lasting peace to their communities”, added Cuerpo.
For his part, Maj. Gen. Roberto Ancan, the 1st Infantry Division and Joint Task Force Zampelan (Zamboanga Peninsula and Lanao Provinces) commander, lauded the troops and the local chief executives for the successful surrender of local terrorist and yield of loose firearms.
“Your 1st Infantry (TABAK) Division, in collaboration with the LGUs and other stakeholders, remains steadfast in our campaign against local terrorist and will continue to seize loose firearms in our area of operation,” said Ancan.
