CAMP SANG-AN, Labangan, Zamboanga del Sur – Two local terrorist and two supporters voluntarily surrendered to Army’s 49th Infantry Battalion in Brgy Cormatan Masiu, Lanao del Sur 3:30 p.m. Monday, November 11, 2019.
“The local terrorist were identified as Camar Gampong Musa and Nasroding Comayog Patilan, while the supporters were Badroding Gampong Patilan and Pacalinog Patila”, said Lt. Col. Edgar Allan Villanueva 49th Infantry Battalion commander.
The four also yielded one M16A1 rifle, one caliber 45 pistol, magazines and ammunitions.
Custodial debriefing is still on-going as of this posting.
According to Col. Jose Maria Cuerpo II, 103rd Infantry Brigade Commander, who has operational jurisdiction of Lanao del Sur “We continuously encourage local terrorist groups and their supporters to surrender and submit themselves to the folds of the law in order to make their community peaceful”.
Meanwhile, Brig. Gen. Bagnus Gaerlan Jr., Acting Commander of the 1st Infantry Division and Joint Task Force Zampelan (Zamboanga Peninsula and Lanao Provinces), commended the efforts of the troops for the successful surrender of local terrorist members and their supporters.
“Your 1st Infantry (TABAK) Division, remains steadfast in its commitment to attain just and lasting peace in our area of operation thru our campaign against local terrorist groups, lawless armed groups and loose firearms,” said Gaerlan.
“Likewise, we thank the local government and other stakeholders for their continued trust and support to our troops in contributing peace and development in the whole province of Lanao del Sur,” Gaerlan added.
